Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s missions depend on specialized manufacturing capabilities not available outside the Laboratory. Machining professionals fabricate parts for LLNL to implement research and design innovations, all with a cost-effective, low-waste ethos.
In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to design and create objects using 3D printing techniques. Students will learn about career opportunities within manufacturing and gain insight into LLNL's Machinist Apprenticeship Program, a 4-year California-certified program that offers paid education plus training in the machine-tool trade.
Topics include: machining | process manufacturing. Projects include: 3D printing | computer design

Eligibility:
* All students must be 16 years or older by the start of the workshop.
* Students age 18 at the start of the workshop must be U. S. citizens.
Additional information:
* There is NO cost to attend; the workshop is FREE.
* Students must bring their own laptops.
* Lunch and snacks provided.
* Students must have their own transportation to and from the workshop.
* No GPA requirement; experience not required
* No letter of recommendation required.
