Virtual Tours and Class Visits


The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory invites high school teachers to bring their class for a virtual visit to one of our premier facilities at the Laboratory. Currently, LLNL offers virtual tours of the National Ignition Facility (NIF) and the National Atmospheric Release Advisory Center (NARAC). The Scientist in the Classroom program connects LLNL scientists and engineers with students in their virtual classroom.



Virtual Tour Guidelines:

  • Tours are typically offered Fridays on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • Virtual tours are usually one hour long
  • Group size is limited to 30 visitors
  • Teachers will be provided with tour instructions
  • Any recording of the tour including discussions or screenshots is strictly prohibited

Scientist in the Classroom Guidelines:

  • All visits are virtual
  • 30-60 minute class sessions
  • Available during school hours
  • Tailored to your STEM subject of interest
  • Teachers will be provided with a link and instructions​​​​​​

  • Activities for middle or high school students
  • Available during school hours
  • Students use their phones with free applications
  • All additional supplies provided by LLNL
