Onsite Day at the Lab Tour

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory invites high school teachers to bring their class for an onsite visit to our premier facilities at no cost. The Day at the Lab program is typically offered on Wednesdays from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Students will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge research and learn about careers in science and engineering.
This experience includes:
- A visit to the LLNL Discovery Center
- Tours of the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory and the National Ignition Facility
- A career panel lunch with working scientists and engineers (lunch provided)
Guidelines:
- Group size is limited to 30 visitors
- Tours are offered on most Wednesday on a first come, first served basis
- Visitors are required to provide personal and government-issued identification information prior to the visit
- Visitors 18 or older must be U. S. citizens and present a REAL ID or valid (non-expired) U.S. passport upon arrival.
- All visitors must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Section 3112 which prohibits citizens of China, Russia, Iran and North Korea without dual US citizenship or legal permanent residence from accessing non-public areas of a national security facility.
Virtual Class Visits
Scientist in the Classroom Guidelines:
- All visits are virtual
- 30-60 minute class sessions
- Available during school hours
- Tailored to your STEM subject of interest
- Teachers will be provided with a link and instructions
Physics with Phones Guidelines:
- All visits are virtual
- Activities for high school or college students
- Available during school hours
- Students use their phones with free applications
- All additional supplies provided by LLNL
